Queensland’s smoke alarm legislation requires photoelectric, interconnected smoke alarms in all bedrooms and connecting hallways. Our licensed electricians supply, install and test them.
From 1 January 2022, landlords must install interconnected smoke alarms in residential rental properties. Mercury Fire Protection can supply, install, service and maintain compulsory smoke detectors in your home, business or building. Can you manage smoke alarms for a property manager’s whole rental portfolio?
Yes. Mercury Fire Protection offers portfolio compliance agreements for property managers and real estate agencies — scheduled annual testing, between-tenancy checks, bulk suburb scheduling and owner-ready records across Bundaberg, Hervey Bay, Maryborough and the Wide Bay region.
How often must rental smoke alarms be tested?
Interconnected smoke alarms in Queensland rental properties must be tested at least every 12 months and remain compliant for the full term of each tenancy. We schedule annual testing across property manager portfolios and document every visit.
